FAT DISSOLVING
TARGETED FAT REDUCTION & CONTOUR REFINEMENT
Fat-dissolving injections are a non-surgical treatment designed to target small, localised areas of unwanted fat. The active ingredients used work locally on fat cells, helping the body gradually process and clear the treated fat.
This treatment is not a weight-loss solution. It is more suitable for areas where small pockets of fat remain despite otherwise healthy weight management, and where a subtle change in contour may help create a more balanced appearance.
My recommendation is always to start with healthy weight management and appropriate exercise where possible. Localised muscle strengthening may also help improve body shape and definition. Fat-dissolving injections are not a substitute for a healthy lifestyle, and I would generally consider them only when lifestyle measures have been tried and a small, persistent area of localised fat remains.
Depending on the area being treated, fat-dissolving injections may be considered for areas such as the under-chin area, jawline, abdomen, arms or other localised areas, following individual assessment.
The treatment is delivered through multiple small injections directly into the subcutaneous fat layer, with a carefully planned distribution across the area being treated. Small amounts are placed at multiple points rather than concentrating a large amount in one location. The injection depth and pattern are adjusted according to the thickness and distribution of the localised fat and the anatomy of the treatment area.
Fat-dissolving treatment is a gradual process, and a course of treatment is usually required. Most areas require at least 2–3 sessions, with treatments spaced appropriately to allow the body to process and clear the treated fat. Where there is a larger or more substantial area of localised fat, 6–8 sessions may be required.
The number of sessions required depends on the amount and distribution of fat, the treatment area, your individual response and the desired outcome. Each session is planned according to how the area responds, allowing the treatment to be adjusted progressively rather than trying to achieve too much at once.
You may experience temporary swelling, tenderness, redness or bruising following treatment as the body responds.
The aim is not to dramatically change your body, but to make carefully considered adjustments to persistent localised fat — helping refine and rebalance your natural contours.
